Depression Affects Accomplishments by Susan

I've been aware for many years that my depression affects my accomplishments.  Somehow my motivation is diminished when I am suffering more.  My energy level is low and my daily accomplishments are few.

When I have good days without much depression, I can be very creative and energetic, almost to the point of being hyper.  This doesn't last more than a few days.  A change in the weather from sunny days to cloudy, dreay days can send me back into a state of more depression and fewer accomplishments.

I try to counteract this cycle by doing things I enjoy to lift my spirits.  I also like to make lists of tasks or goals to accomplish.  Lists have always been helpful to me.  Once I accepted that I need to try harder to overcome the depression to accomplish more, I have made some progress.

I am feeling better and doing more every day.  I will have setbacks as all people with depression do but I'm learning to better deal with those setbacks and trying to snap back more quickly so that I can live the life that I want.  I have goals and I want to accomplish the necessary tasks to achieve my goals.  I'm always grateful for sunny days!
