Snowbound by Susan
A few days ago we received about 2 inches of ice followed by 11 inches of snow. We have been snowbound and I'm getting cabin fever already.
I recently became an Avon Representative and my order arrived right before this massive Winter storm. I felt so stressed out and anxious about getting my products delivered to my customers. I also worried about getting my brochures passed out.
My fear of driving on ice and snow prevented me from heading out with the car. We also don't have the driveway shoveled. I think my husband is waiting for it to melt. He did some shoveling and cleaned the car off but has to be careful not to overdo it since he is a senior citizen.
My fear of walking on ice and snow prevented me the first day from delivering my merchandise to all of my neighbors. I have a terrible fear of falling as a result of a bad fall some time ago. Finally today, my anxiety about getting my job done over shadowed my fear of walking. I pulled on my boots and set off down the street.
I walked very slowly and cautiously. My son had advised me to waddle like a duck! I didn't fall, although I did slip a few times on some icey spots. When I finished, I had a great sense of accomplishment. I also felt proud of myself for doing something in spite of my anxiety and fear.
You could say that my anxiety about getting my job done had a battle with my anxiety regarding my fear of walking on ice. Now that really was a struggle!

I'm glad you are reading my blog! Ozzie is getting fat and lazy now that Winter is here. He doesn't like the cold at all. I have been making preparations for Christmas this week so haven't been on the computer nearly as much as usual. We put up our Christmas tree this week and I'm still working on putting out all of my other Christmas decorations. We spent two whole days Christmas shopping for our children, their spouses and our grandson. We still have a few items to purchase. I'll write an article soon about our plans for Christmas. Thanks a lot for your comments!
