'Chipping Away' by David

I only watch television when Lost or "24" is on.  I am on the computer all of the time.  When my depression is at it's worst, that's about all I can do.

At these times I try to get myself to 'chip away' at things........that is, when I get up to take a break, I try to get myself to do just a small bit of the things I have not been able to do.

I may simply unload the top rack of the dishwasher during one break.   The next time I may hang up a shirt.  When I am able to do these things,  I look at it like I am earning my breaks from the computer.  The resulting feeling is that I feel a little better about myself for what I've done while 'chipping away'.

Hi Susan and your alter ego Ozzie. I followed the link and ended up here. Sorry I thought you were a young person, male, say 18 to 20. I'm from Emgland. I see your suffering from depression. May I make a suggestion and please try it. Its sounds daft - but its not. Here goes:

Fill a rubber hot ware bottle with almost hot water, lay down on the sofa, you may call it USA the couch? Put a thin tea towel over your face, now put the hot water bottle on your closed eyes, your eylids and of course your forehead. Leave it there for as long as you feel comfortable, guessing about 15- 20 minutes. Do this twice, maybe once today, once say the next day. You might find, and I hope you do, that your depression as gone, maybe never-ever to return. Be careful, don;t burn yourself, thats why I say put a tea towel over your eyes and forehead to protect the skin. Why this works I don;t know, maybe your nerves get coated in fat on the nerve ends and the heat melts it. I confess it works but I have no i idea why or how. Enjoyed your posts. God bless America and all the Susans in America. Bob.

My posts were directed at new starters in sales. I was once young, an now 65. RW.

Thank you so much for your suggestion, Bob.  I appreciate it.  I will try it sometime soon because it sounds very relaxing too.  Bless you and I hope you are having Happy Holidays.  I really appreciate you reading our blog.  I was also once young and won't tell my age but you aren't far ahead of me.
