Rainy Days by David
How do you deal with rainy days?
They can be very depressing. In the last couple
of days I have started trying to become more
diversified.......instead of only being on the computer
all day, when I take a bathroom break or a food or
beverage break I will do at least
one small thing like put up some dishes, throw away
some trash..etc.
To someone who doesn't have depression, our way
of life can sound very silly. Who ever heard of someone
giving themself a pat on the back if all they did
all day was get out of bed or get out of bed and
wash the dishes. Well we, the depressed, know very well
that these pats are very important. It's just that we
don't really feel like patting all of the time.......it's a tough
time feeling special.
We are able to do(at times)maybe one thousanth of
what someone else does in a day(literally!).We take
small steps and each one is as important as the previous
one, rainy days just happen to make us move a little
slower.

small steps they may be, but they are small steps relentlessly moving forward, thats what makes them special whether you realise it at the time or not.
comparing yourself to someone who doesnt and possibly couldnt understand depressive disorders? just how does that help you? its time to cut away the dead wood and focus on new growth.
