Chronic Illness by Susan

It has been my experience that when a person is ill, they quickly become more depressed.  I've had a sinus bug for nearly a week now and getting more depressed is now happening to me.  I know it will pass soon.

Many people, myself included, have chronic diseases that cause them pain, fatigue and increased depression.  Doing everything we can to alleviate the pain and fatigue will help us with our depression.

My doctor is very good about helping me control the chronic pain from my arthritis and fibromyalgia.  He also encourages me to exercise as much as I can.  I'm not very good about doing much of that but hopefully, I will improve and do more so that my disabilities won't progress too rapidly.

I've learned a lot by reading about arthritis and fibromyalgia at the Arthritis Foundation website located at:  http://arthritis.org  If you have either of these chronic diseases you might like to check out this website.  Knowing how to help yourself with the disease helps with the depression too.
