Getting Around...........by Susan

I've been getting around a lot on the Internet!   It's hard to believe because five years ago I didn't know how to turn on a computer.  I've been reading and reading, learning and learning and you know what the most important thing is that I've learned?  I have not only learned my way around a computer and the Internet, I have managed to increase my self-esteem.

My therapist once told me to learn something new, take up a new hobby, make a new friend, etc.  This was in an attempt to help me help myself to become interested in something again and thus reduce my depression.  Believe me, it works!

My brother, David, asked me the other day to send him links to all the places where I have small websites or blogs.  I hunted for the links so that I could send them to him.  I surprised myself at the number of places I've been "getting around" to.

Last night I did another new thing!  I started a Blog Group at MySpace called Mental Health Blogs.  I hope some of our readers will join that group and take part in the sharing of blogs that have to do with depression, anxiety, stress, and any other mental health problems.

I'm glad you've read this article and I hope you will consider trying something new.  You might have fun, learn something, meet someone new or most importantly increase your self-esteem and relieve your depression.  It sure has helped me.
