Merry Christmas to All!
by Susan
David and I would like to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas. Sometimes those of us with depression struggle to be merry but for me it's worth the effort. I enjoy shopping, wrapping, baking and visiting with my family during the holidays.
I know that many people see gift buying as a bad thing but I get a great deal of pleasure from buying and giving gifts to my loved ones. I also know that saying Happy Holidays is the politically correct thing to say these days..... but I've never worried too much about being politically correct. For my family it is Christmas and we love celebrating it.
Today my brother David and I shared a wonderful day together. We exchanged gifts, went to lunch at our favorite restaurant, and then went to purchase a few last minute items for Christmas with our children. It was a blustery, cold day and the store was packed with shoppers. Traffic was horrendous, but I'll never forget this special day we spent together.
We sincerely hope you share a fun day with someone you love during the Christmas holiday.

I applaud your gift giving and success in shopping. I wrote out how I think that my dad instilled in us an inability to enjoy the hustle and bussle of Cristmas by pointing out how spending even at Cristmas and birthdays can lead to a person's downfall. I wrote about the few
times that he broke his own rules and
how wonderful those times were. My
mother was creative and made it special for us anyway, but today we
talked about it and determined to do
some things together that will make
it special for us. He thinks the little Christmas tree with the train
is just fine and he liked the candles.
He says he will put out his little carolers he made in a snow scene tomorrow. We reviewed how to run the
train without the music, etc. I'm
glad I got it. I called about getting
the little cardinal for my aunt in Columbia and will try to do some shopping tomorrow on my way to and from
my appointment. My cousin, C.J. has to
go to a family gathering in Nixa, but
we usually go out to eat on my beauty shop day and it always gives me a lift
and a change from my cooking. I can see I'm going to have to work at it so that I don't let the weather get me down.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it. If I could ask just one question.
Are people on this blog more interested in how I feel or in what I know?
I want so much to share with others what I have learned the 'hard' way, but I don't want to bore anyone
Thanks
Darrel

Hi Darrel, I think people want to know how we feel and I hope it doesn't bore anyone. There are plenty of sites where we can find professional help and advice. Sometimes I give links to sites that I think might be helpful to readers. Susan

I believe in Jesus Christ my Savior. But I was under the impression that Christmas was all about colors; green, red, white, candle-light yellow etc. And I wish you all guys maryy X-mas.
