Where Does the Time Go?
by Susan
I think two things in my life are making time fly by. One.....because I am getting older.....for some reason time just flies by as you age. Two.....stress and depression cause me to waste a lot of time.
I can't do a lot about getting older, but I may be able to make some changes in how much time gets away from me because of my depression. When I'm depressed, I'm not nearly as active. My mind is often preoccupied with thinking about the same things over and over. My body is sluggish and I like to sleep more than usual......or I may not sleep well at all.
Depression can take days away from us if we don't stop it. One way that I think works well to stop this pattern of losing time is to get a bit of exercise. In the middle of winter that's sometimes hard to do. However, if I can't get outside and walk, I drag myself to a large store such as Lowe's or Walmart and walk around the inside perimeter. After a few laps, I take the time to browse in the store for fun.
I've also found that drinking hot green tea helps me to throw off that sluggish feeling which often accompanies depression. I try to have a cup everyday when I find myself getting sleepy in the afternoon or early evening.
I work hard trying not to lose to much of each day to needless stress, depression and worry. I'm making progress on most days. Now.....if only there was a way to slow down the aging process, I wouldn't have to wonder, 'Where Does the Time Go?'

Your blog helped me to know that I am
not the only one who thinks about the same things over and over when I am depressed. Excercise is a good idea.
Shopping is a good place to go while
the wind is so cold like it was today.
Today, I got absorbed in fixing a
roast that kept the house nice and warm
and kept me more upbeat, but I am looking forward to sunshine tomorrow and trying to find a way to be possitive about the threat of severe
weather.

"Where does the time go? I wish I knew? I know it passes us by fast and the aging process also comes with it. I wish time would continue to pass as it does but would not age us. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all stay looking about 20 years old. Smile
