I agree that family, friends, and professionals can help in situations like Susan B's. It's too bad that she
had to go through the unpleasantness.
She brought so much joy to so many
people and overall, it was very positive for me. I wish I could think
of a way to let her know how much it
meant to me. I stop to listen every time I hear her voice and I love
the song she selected. Somehow, it
brought back the importance of music
that we have not known for a very long
time. And this time, I'm sure it included a wider group of people. In
our first music classes, we were taught
that music is a universal language, but
good music is not always popular. It's
too bad that the contest turned into a
popularity contest--not necessarily the
best of anything, but I feel like most
people understand that and we have to
realistic. Life is not easy and winning is never a sure thing. However, many people still want to hear
more of her and will go out of their way to buy recordings when they become
available. One of the things we liked
was that she was a genuine real person
and real people have to deal with stress. I'm hoping that more people
will select good music and that young
people will be encouraged to work as
hard as she has. That first wonderful
night has made all the rest of it worthwhile. I still like to hear about
it on the news and I am so glad you chose to write about it!

i become overwhelmed by an emotion that i do not experience very often, it is usually accompanied by extreme anxiety.

Anxiety can also be an outcome of happiness. Even happiness or success can sometimes be dangerous.
Some natural anxiety remedies to look into are St.John's Wort, SAMe, L-Theanine, and Tryptophan. There's also cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and programs like Panic Away and The Linden Method, to name a few. Hope this helps!
